Tupac Amaru Shakur was an American rapper. Both of his parents were members of the Black Panther Party. Tupac became heavily involved in the West Coast East Coast hip hop rivalry and released a number of diss songs directed at The Notorious B.I.G.. He was shot on September 7, 1996 in a drive-by-shooting and died of his injuries six days later. He has been ranked as one of the most influential rappers of all time.
